There is hardly a person in the country whose family or acquaintances have not been saved by the paramedics. Theirs is indescribably hard and trying work, and among them, probably only the obsessed, the "holy madmen" can do this work for years.
Today, on the day of the paramedics, Prof. Dr. Miklós Kásler, the Minister of Human Resources, greeted all 8,500 Hungarian rescue workers and István Simicskó, the faction leader of the Christian Democratic People's Party, also thanked them.
The minister said in a video posted on the social media site that since the start of the epidemic, the National Ambulance Service provided assistance to 152,000 suspected or confirmed infected patients during the epidemic and conducted epidemiological sampling of 1.2 million people. Miklós Kásler emphasized that the developments have been continuous since 2010.
We acquired more than 1,000 new ambulances, renovated 107 major ambulance stations, built 34 new ambulance stations, and established 14 rescue points. Last year, ambulances covered more than 42 million kilometers for patients and performed more than 1,800 successful resuscitations.
In the course of their work, the rescuers had to be among the first to adapt to the changed health situation, and fight against the virus even wearing full protective equipment all day, emphasized István Simicskó.
What else can we add on behalf of our readers: thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, dear paramedics!
