The President of the Republic Katalin Novák made a decision on the pardon request of the last three involved in the so-called Hunnia case on Thursday - after listening to the request for pardon of the offended Sándor Csintalan - the Sándor Palace informed MTI.

The decision to suspend the prison sentence does not affect the question of guilt. Regarding the ban from public affairs, the head of state decided to reject the requests. Thursday's pardon decision closes the 15-year-old Hunnia case

he added in a statement from the Sándor Palace.

Sándor Csintalan previously asked the president of the republic in a letter to pardon the three men who were convicted after 15 years of litigation for beating up the ex-politician, but they could not prove this. According to Csintalan, the protracted process was more than enough punishment for the perpetrators, and he does not want his children to grow up without a father.

pardoned, among others, those already convicted in the Hunnia trials, including György Budaházy, in whose case he decided to suspend the prison sentence.
