A new state tender to support electric car purchases is being launched with a budget of HUF three billion, but with somewhat stricter conditions than before. Electric cars for seven or more people have been placed in a separate category, so a state subsidy of up to HUF five million can be applied for.
On the one hand, in addition to private individuals (maximum one car), only civil organizations, associations and higher education institutions (maximum five cars) can apply for support, companies and enterprises are not eligible for support in this program.
On the other hand, while previously the intention to buy was enough for the application, now you have to go to a dealership first, order the car, and only then can you submit the application. There may be a risk in this, because the application specifically emphasizes that the acceptance of the order and the application does not automatically mean the award of the grant.
The good news, however, is that the support categories have been broken down into electric cars with a maximum of five, seven or more passengers. However, this can be combined with a car purchase subsidy for families with three or more children, so a subsidy of up to HUF five million can be obtained.
