Above all, these parents lack the opportunity to recharge and relax in their lives.

According to the announcement, an estimated 24,000 people in Hungary live with disabilities - regardless of age - in single-parent families, of which 16,000 are adults and 11,000 are adults who neither study nor work, so they are in full need of parental support.

Single parents raising a disabled child feel that they need help in many areas, but most of all they lack the opportunity to recharge their batteries

- the joint survey of the Single Parent Center and the Find Yourself Association is quoted in the announcement.

They added: the center advertised holiday opportunities specifically for single-parent families raising disabled children. In mid-March, 51 people, a total of 17 families, will be able to take part in a 5-day recreation at the Kolping Hotel Spa & Family Resort. The program is implemented with HUF 6 million from the Mol-Új Európa Foundation and HUF 2 million from the Hungarian Kolping Family Holiday Foundation.

In the announcement, it was also mentioned that in March of this year, single parents raising disabled children will be invited to a support group within the framework of a new program, where they can discuss the questions arising in their life situation on thematic occasions and help them find solutions and answers to them.
