If scouting develops, Hungary will also get stronger - declared State Secretary Bence Rétvári at the closing event of the Imre Herceg-plan - Closer to Each Other youth education and community development program of the Hungarian Scout Association (MCSSZ) in Budapest on Friday.

What we can add to the development of scouting now will serve Hungarian youth for generations - emphasized the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources.

The politician recalled: it was self-evident that the government concluded a strategic cooperation agreement with the MCSSZ already in 2010, since scouting is the largest and oldest Hungarian youth organization, now a hundred years old, and is also based on Christian and national foundations. At the same time, he continued, contemporary education complements what the child can receive at school and at home, which contributes to character development in a unique way.

It means community, support, helps us to get to know ourselves, it gives the watch leaders leadership experience, thus preparing them for life - listed Bence Rétvári.

Péter Bedekovics , the president of the association, announced that through the Human Resources Development Operative Program of the European Union, 1.86 billion forints were used to reach around 20,000 disadvantaged young people.

He emphasized that in the organization, which currently has 13,670 members, value-based, value-centered character education is carried out in small communities for a better world.

The main goals of the program were the widespread dissemination of value-centeredness among disadvantaged children and young people, as well as strengthening the operation of the scouting movement by further developing community education.

The project covered seven topics: youth education in disadvantaged settlements, child protection, strengthening the historical values of scouting, preparing young people for leadership tasks, camp organization, development of professional methodologies and development of educational manuals.

As a result, 20,000 children and young people participated in around 220 events. Ten new small communities were created, 14 new scout teams were formed and three new training methodologies were completed in the fields of child protection, basic knowledge of romology and leadership.

Last but not least, the movement got stronger and richer thanks to the intensive networking and modernizing internal communication, said Péter Bedekovics.
