Főtér.ro, which published the article, was surprised by this. Of course, we do not insist on the role of the biggest enemy either, but the following statistics caught us quite unexpectedly.
The latest survey by the pollster Avangarde examined how Romanians relate to the world's leading powers and their neighbors.
Well, the survey reveals, among other things, that - although according to previous research many people are really afraid that Hungary wants to regain Transylvania - they do not consider Budapest to be the biggest threat.
When asked which of the listed countries they consider to be Romania's biggest enemy, 24 percent of the respondents named Russia, so Russia's Motherland took first place.
(Only Putin doesn't know! - ed.)
On the other hand, Hungary is not in the second place - fear of Transylvania here or there. But Germany. Exactly why is an interesting question - perhaps because it opposed the United States regarding the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline jointly built with Russia - but 10 percent of respondents see Germany as the country's biggest enemy.
Therefore, Hungary - although on the podium - only finished in third place, with 6 percent. It is also interesting that Hungary did not finish last on the list of neighboring countries that are considered best friends.
Of course, Moldova took first place with 45 percent, Bulgaria was second with 11 percent, and Serbia was third with 8 percent. However, with its 4 percent, Hungary is ahead of Ukraine, which only 2 percent of respondents consider a good friend - presumably because of the extreme anti-minority Kievism that also affects the Romanian community in Ukraine. because of steps.
