The Wass Albert quote reflects the law passed in 2010 that made the date of the signing of the Trianon Peace Treaty a national day of remembrance. In other words, today is the Day of National Unity.
On the motion of Zsolt Semjén and László Kövér, the Parliament declared by adopting the law: "every member and community of Hungarians under the authority of several states is part of the unified Hungarian nation, whose unity across state borders is a reality and at the same time a defining element of Hungarians' personal and community identity".
Tamás Szarka's song, Kézfogas, also expresses the togetherness of Hungarians.
