It is not disputed that Ukraine has the right to make money from anything, but the news published by Transcarpathia is still shocking. According to this, the Education Committee of the Supreme Council has developed a draft allowing the education of foreign student groups in any language in order to increase the income of the budgets, Serhiy Babak, the Chairman of the Education Committee of the Parliament, announced on the opening day of the 30th National Forum of Education and Science of Ukraine.

According to Babak, there are currently 70,000 foreign students studying in Ukraine, who are subject to certain legal restrictions. At the moment, due to legal restrictions, they can only be taught in two languages - Ukrainian and English. But that will soon change. If the legislation is adopted, education could be conducted in Polish in Volyn County or Lemberg, in Hungarian in Transcarpathia, in Romanian in Chernivtsi, in Bulgarian in Odessa, and even in Russian in Kharkiv!

And if that happens. Then they count on 20,000 more foreign students, and the budgetary income of universities and local communities could increase by 1.2 billion hryvnias and 4 billion hryvnias annually.

It's fine - we can add - the education of foreign university students is also a big business here. But if a Hungarian high school student (later) wants to study in Hungarian in Transcarpathia, he can only get there if he fulfills the following admission requirements. Applicants must present a certificate of Ukrainian language and literature or Ukrainian language for each major.

For biology and human health, chemistry and mathematics majors, a Ukrainian language certificate is required, while applicants for other majors must present a Ukrainian language and literature certificate. In the external "independent" evaluation, instead of the certificate obtained in the Ukrainian language, higher education institutions can count the certificates obtained in the Ukrainian language and literature. In other words, applicants with a certificate in Ukrainian language and literature can also apply to courses where a Ukrainian language certificate is required.

According to the above, it follows that if there is to be Hungarian-language education in Transcarpathia, young people born there will have to pay just as much as foreign students.
