At the invitation of the László Szekeres Foundation, dr. visited Szabadka on Thursday. Prime Minister's agent Katalin Szili, who held discussions with Róbert Fejsztámer, the president of the Fund, and his colleagues, as well as István Pásztor, president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association, and the leaders of the Hungarian National Council: president Jenő Hajnal and Aniko Jerasz, president of the MNT executive committee.
At her occasional press conference , Katalin Szili reminded that Hungary recently took over the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the European Council, and in the coming six months, during the presidency, five priorities will be kept in mind , which encompass the most important tasks for Hungarians. These are the issue of national minorities, interreligious dialogue, youth issues, technological development and sustainable development .
"Each is a question that the XXI. it can represent an important preparation for the challenges of the 20th century, but at the same time the protection of national minorities is particularly important. This is not only a Hungarian issue! There are 50 million national minorities in the European Union. In geographical Europe, on the other hand, every seventh citizen lives in a national minority row! We consider it important to have the framework rules that give an Alsatian, a South Tyrolean, or a Szekler the chance to stay and thrive in their homeland," said the prime minister's agent.
According to Dr. Katalin Szili, it is also important to be able to distinguish the native minorities from the current immigrants, because they are now blurred by European regulations, and in fact many in the EU are not even clear that identity protection and the right to why is it important.
