The staff of the House of Traditions Network - Slovakia can have a successful year behind them. The results are summarized by József Farkas, head of the Network.

"After the epidemic period, we set ourselves a rather diverse plan, which we successfully completed. The full report would require a larger volume, so I will only cover the most important events.

The program of the House of Traditions Network - Slovakian Folk Traditions in Education at the Faculty of Central European Studies of Nitra Konstantin Philosopher University goes back four years. This year, we dealt with students in two full semesters, and success is indicated by the fact that there have never been so many applicants. In light of the results, we will of course continue the course this year as well. We also contacted Selye János University and started a course. We are currently negotiating with the management of the university so that this year it will be implemented in the form of teacher training, in which university students can also participate.

It was a novelty that the finals of the Ipolyi Arnold Folk Storytelling Competition, organized jointly with the Slovak Institute of Hungarian Culture, were held on June 6-7 in the Folk Corner of the Gombaszög Summer Camp.

The final competition was preceded by eight regional semi-finals, 327 young people from a total of 75 educational institutions applied for the competition, 70 made it to the finals. The FolkSzöglet is one of the most successful venues of the Gombaszögi Summer Camp, and we can look back on its programs with satisfaction, as each of them was realized with a large audience.

We invited excellent musicians and productions to the Phonograph Festival held in Révkomárom for the eleventh time, so it is not surprising that the performances also went well. These performances also express the intentions of the directors: in more than a decade, the initial authentic folk music parade has been colored with other genres.

We expanded our databases with the National Games database, and we started the production of our film I Live in Young Hearts, planned for this year, with a new director.

The cinema commemorates the Hungarian folk dance movement in Slovakia and the ethnographic collections. It spans seven decades and is based on oral history in-depth interviews. We hope that the general public will be able to get to know it by the end of the year.

We continued the production of our online publication based on the folk dance educational films entitled The Folk Dance Traditions of Slovak Hungarians. In the case of the individual parts, the basic historical and ethnographic background of the landscape is briefly described. Archive folk dance collections, reconstructed dance types performed by different age groups, and example processes serving as educational aids are presented on the films. We will publish the csallóközi part this year, and we are constantly working on the bodrogközi as well."
