On June 4, we celebrate national unity and mourn the loss of our country 101 years ago, said László Kövér, the Speaker of the Parliament, last night on HírTV Magyarország live. According to the Speaker of the House, 101 years ago, it was not just a matter of dismembering the historical Hungary, but actually trying to condemn it to unviability. In the broadcast, László Kövér spoke about the protection of minority rights, the politics of the European Union, the politicians who cause scandals in the parliament every week, as well as the stakes of the 2022 Hungarian parliamentary election. According to László Kövér, the economic, cultural and political achievement between the two world wars belongs to the most beautiful pages of the country's history.
"It is rare in world history that after such a mutilation, a nation can say after 101 years, thank you very much, it is fine," he said. Most of the Hungarians across the border were able to become useful citizens of the successor states partly on their own. Vilmos Velkovics ' suggestion that a few months ago the Slovak State Secretary for Foreign Affairs called the Hungarian minority a security risk, and that the use of the Hungarian language is causing serious tensions in Ukraine, László Kövér said that it is sad that there are still people who consciously play on the ethnic to a card. However, there are also good processes, for example Serbia. A stable process of reconciliation and friendship started there for a long time, the Serbian political elite realized that our interests are very much the same, that we can get ahead by relying on each other, rather than against each other.
In response to the Sargentini report and the European Court decision, he said that
the European Parliament is one of the attacks against European democracies, the European Parliament is not for democracy, it works against it.
"It does not take into account that Europe is not inhabited by European people, but by Hungarians, Flemish, Walloons, French, Italians, etc. inhabited by nations. They have their own system of traditions, including the legal system, they have their own culture, language, self-identity, which they insist on, their history, which they also insist on, and actually they also insist on their own democratic mechanisms of national decision-making. Because decision-making is democratic only as long as the voter sees what the elected person is doing and why he is doing it. You may not agree with it, but then you can correct your own previous decision at the next election," said the Speaker of the House. And he considers those who believe that Brussels party lists should be voted on in the European Parliament to be experts in bureaucracy and oligarchy.
Then it also emerged that the opposition parties in the parliament are already competing to see who gets a bigger punishment from Kövér. "I feel that they are deliberately putting me in a position week after week so that I have no choice but to live with sanctions. Because there are two cases: either I let it go by my ear, then they will put a shovel on it the next time, and then practically sooner or later the functioning of the parliament will be impossible, or I will try to stop the stupidity in accordance with the spirit and letter of the house rules," said the Speaker of the House. At the same time, László Kövér is aware that, for example, Péter Jakab can benefit from this politically, "but it doesn't have to influence me, because the Hungarian Parliament, the Parliament, is not a pub, especially not the backyard of a pub."
Regarding the fact that the opposition "demands compensation" for the past 11 years, Kövér replied:
"There is a discreet charm when Klára Dobrev, Ferenc Gyurcsány's wife, is one of the strong figures of the united opposition, in which the former small-arrows suddenly changed clothes, just as there is such a room in the House of Terror, which captures this historical moment after 45, when the same thing happened.” If they ask for reparations, then the speaker of the house feels: "The knife in one's rubber boots opens, so there is a limit to everything."
The whole thing is a bazaar joke, a pub joke, he declared.
By the way, László Kövér considers it a world trend that parliamentary debates are of a lower standard. The reason for this is that "the world, mainly through the proliferation of the left, has reached the point in a spiritual sense that there is no longer a common denominator between the right and the left, democrats and republicans, Fidesz and Jobbiks, but practically politics has turned into a kind of cold civil war ".
Regarding next year's parliamentary elections, he said that as the results increase for this government and the country, the stakes are getting higher! In the event of a possible neo-Bolshevist turn, we could lose everything again and the country could only be restored at the cost of enormous difficulties and tragedies.
