In 1901, 120 years ago, the Visegrád Four Architectural Foundation organized a symposium and memorial exhibition in the Klebelsberg Kultúrkúria in Budapest in honor of János Gróf Esterházy, a political martyr from the Highlands, born 120 years ago. The event was opened yesterday by Csaba Latorcai, State Secretary for Public Administration of the Ministry of Human Resources, with his greeting.

Count János Esterházy, who was born 120 years ago, was both a solid character, a committed Christian, a patriot, and a politician ready to make the greatest sacrifice, even martyrdom, for his nation and fellow citizens. Throughout, he consistently stood up for the rights of the Hungarians in the Highlands, and at the same time he proclaimed the importance of the Central European, above all and first and foremost, the Hungarian-Slovak community of destiny - Dr. Csaba Latorcai praised the martyred politician from the Highlands.

The Secretary of State for Public Administration - referring to the successful cooperation of the Visegrad Four - emphasized that while the western half of Europe is currently preparing to rewrite its own history, to reject its past and Christian values, Hungary and the Central European nations have a unique opportunity: to bring the Carpathians to joint success - unification of the peoples of the basin.

Along the lines of traditional family values, trusting in the identity-forming power of cultures, and in the spirit of solidarity, we want to promote the intellectual, spiritual and economic rebirth of our continent, as János Esterházy also represented and promoted: cooperating with each other, acting together.
