Left-liberal members of the European Parliament are once again threatening the European Commission with court proceedings. Fidesz EP representative Tamás Deutsch emphasized to our newspaper: the left wants to turn the parliament into a political police force. The European left does not want to debate with those who hold a different opinion, but wants to punish them with harsh legal consequences, Tamás Deutsch told our newspaper

A group of members of the European Parliament wants to take legal action against the European Commission (EC) for still not validating the so-called rule of law mechanism involving the withdrawal of EU funds against Hungary and Poland, according to the draft resolution obtained by Politico.

The Brussels paper recalled that in an earlier document, the representatives named the first of June as the last deadline, but the European Court of Justice, in accordance with the decision of the leaders of the member states last December, is waiting for the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union. According to the representatives who support the current proposal, they should act earlier.

The Hungarian representative of Momentum, Katalin Cseh, signs the draft, and among the signatories are politicians who frequently criticize our country, such as Danuel Freund and Terry Reintke of the German Green Party, or Birgit Sippel, a social democrat.

The European left wants to turn the EP into a political police force - with the vanguard participation of the representatives of the Hungarian left - Tamás Deutsch, head of the Fidesz EP delegation, responded to the draft resolution. He reminded them that their aspiration is not new, but it is getting stronger: the Tavares report, the Sargentini report, and the mechanism that lied to the rule of law also served this purpose.

According to Deutsch, the European left does not want to argue with those who have a different point of view - be it an EU institution, a member state government, a party family or a faction - but they want to use legal means to punish those with a different opinion. Those who say no to illegal migration, imperial, federal ideas, and gender madness are called Eurosceptics, extremists, and corrupt, they are accused and harsh legal punishments are demanded.

The representative called it sad that Fidesz's former party family, the European People's Party, yielded to the pressure and "became the handmaiden of the left" in the left's efforts to transform the European Parliament into a political police.
