As a CDU politician and former German state minister, Hans Kaiser knows more about Hungary than the liberal mainstream wants to believe. Kaisert, who was the head of the Budapest office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation between 2006 and 2012 and has maintained close ties with Hungary ever since. The politician was asked by Balázs Náray in Kossuth Rádió's Sunday newspaper program, from which we highlight some details.

- Can you imagine that in Germany, for example, the AfD, the Alternative for Germany, will team up with Link, the party of the left, the Social Democrats, and the Free Democrats in order to throw the CDU out of power? Because this is practically what happens in Hungary, when the former far-right Jobbik teams up with the socialists and liberals in order to oust the government from power. Is this the political reality? What do you think about such developments?

– Of course, I also follow the events, I read about them, and to be honest, I find it hard to believe that such shamelessness exists.

The only thing that matters, no matter how and at what price, is that Orbán leaves. That's pretty much the solution offered by the people who concocted this alliance.

I am certain that, despite all the coincidences in time, such a case will not occur in Germany. I can only hope that the Hungarian citizens will also recognize and see what it is all about; about revenge and old struggles. Because Orbán succeeded in forcing the socialists to leave power, and in addition, he repeated this election victory even more clearly in the next elections. That attitude about revenge, in my opinion, has no place in politics. I believe that politics should be about the program and should show performance, the voter should make a decision based on this, and not on the basis that this or that should disappear. For me, this is not a political category, you can't do politics based on it. As I said, I find it a shame, even though I am only an observer, not living in Hungary, but looking at it from here, I still find it a shame that such a congregation could be created and assembled, which is held together by a single goal, namely to force a successful prime minister and a successful government out of power .

- You know Hungary, I know that. However, if you only knew about Hungary from the media, what would you think of the country? Because in Germany, in the media about Hungary, you almost exclusively read, hear or see negative things.

- We managed to build a network that focused on Hungary, and especially on Viktor Orbán, and that specifically adopted his critical views, it became a kind of fashion. consider what is happening There is no question of research work, of looking into things, of what is actually happening. I am one of those who lived through the period of the predecessors of the Orbán governments. At this point, I ask where the critical manifestations were at that time, for example regarding Mr. Gyurcsány and his government, or Bajnai and his government. Again and again I get the impression that especially after 2010, when Viktor Orbán was elected prime minister for the second time and he successfully began to govern, they realized that they could not shake Fidesz and Viktor Orbán within Hungary. A very interesting concept has been developed for the fight against Orbán, Fidesz and to some extent Hungary, namely that this fight will be taken to the European space, mainly to Brussels, but also to other European capitals . That's my impression of what's going on, especially after seeing Orbán re-elected twice more, strengthened. However, I was very wrong about one thing. Namely, I thought that if Hungary is developing well economically under Orbán, we can even think about family policy programs, economic programs, or the structural development of the country. I thought that if he succeeds in this and is re-elected with a large majority, then in Brussels and in the media, those who have attacked him will leave him alone. Well, to my great regret, I have to say, that's not what happened, they didn't leave him alone. Despite all the success that Orbán achieved with his government, including the talented Hungarian workers and the economy. Obviously, that didn't do any good, nor did being re-elected twice with large majorities.

Therefore, I have to say that Orbán needs to defend himself again against the attack, which is being led by the united parties in Hungary on the one hand, and unfortunately coming from the media that supports them and from the European arena - Strasbourg and Brussels - on the other hand.
