If the economic growth reaches 5 and a half percent, family members will get back the taxes they paid this year. This means a tax refund of HUF 400,000 on average for an average Hungarian family. Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! Katalin Kardosné Gyurkó, president of the National Association of Families, was the guest of his program.

People with families are very happy about the opportunity to get a significant amount of money back from the state.

The president of the National Association of Families said that large families now receive less, but they also had one or two children, so they understand how important this is now for smaller families.

"In order to be brave enough to have children, it is very important to feel supported, because a big family starts with 1 child"

said the president.

Many people invest the remaining amount in loan repayments, but there are also those who use it to go on vacation. There are also those who use the amount to complete a house renovation they have already started.

"Until now, there has never been an example of supporting families after a crisis rather than cutting them off"

said Katalin Kardosné Gyurkó, president of the National Association of Families.

He also added that the families were supported throughout the crisis, which gives the families a sense of security.

"In 2008, many families were ruined because of foreign currency loans"

said the president.

He also said that in 2008-09, large families received very little. More than 60 percent of their income went to overhead expenses and only after 2010 did they finally catch a breath.

Another piece of positive news for family members is that in the 2022 budget, which the parliament is scheduled to vote on this week, the budget amount that can be spent on family allowances will increase by two billion forints.
