Ferenc Gyurcsány ordered Jobbik to march at this year's Pride, thereby putting his faith in the members of the LGBTQ community, János Volner, the former faction leader of the party and the current leader of the Volner Párt, stated in a video published on Facebook.
The politician who repeatedly criticized his former party has now stated in his post: At the request of Ferenc Gyurcsány, Péter Jakab will withdraw in favor of Gergely Karácsony in the primary election.
According to Volner, it is clear that the president of DK is dealing with the left. He gave a quite astonishing example of this: according to information from his former party's "house area", Gyurcsány ordered Jobbik to march at this year's Pride.
According to his words, Gyurcsány ordered Péter Jakab to jointly stand up for the LGBTQ members and together demonstrate the unity of the left-wing coalition established by Ferenc Gyurcsány. "Shame and disgrace", János Volner commented on the developments, reminding at the same time that Jobbik had previously strongly opposed Pride.
It is worth remembering that in 2010, Jakab called homosexuals "aberrant". "Obviously, we will still not give up on the gendarmerie. The task of the gendarmerie will not be to provide b*zipades. More than 100 police officers were sent from Miskolc because we are doing so well, they have to escort these aberrants," said the current president of Jobbik at a campaign event in Miskolc.
Nine years ago, Jobbik submitted a bill to parliament that would have punished homosexuals with imprisonment of up to several years, fines or imprisonment.
In 2016, Jobbik's Budapest organization issued a statement that "anyone who goes to Pride is a sick, deviant person." But even in 2017, Gábor Vona said that if it were up to him, he would ban Pride.
