A two-hundred billion HUF tender is open for the renewal of the food industry. Within the framework of the "Renewable countryside, renewable agriculture" program, the Ministry of Agriculture has announced a tender for the complex development of food industry plants with a budget of 200 billion forints in connection with government initiatives aimed at restarting the economy, announced Minister of Agriculture István Nagy.

The minister reminded that in the 2014-2020 period, the government provided orders of magnitude more resources to support food industry developments, making up for the planning mistakes of previous left-wing governments, which neglected food production.
The increased level of rural development subsidies will now make it possible to further increase the pace of investments and completely renew the food industry, thus strengthening domestic security of supply, stressed István Nagy. He added that the conditions were designed in such a way that regardless of the size of the business, support can be requested in connection with the production of any food product.

He explained that it is possible to apply for construction, renovation, procurement of tools, machines, technological equipment and the complete design of new processing plants related to food production and winemaking activities. The tender also offers the opportunity to purchase vehicles that can be used for the transport of goods in connection with the processing activity.

The head of the department drew attention to the fact that the maximum amount of non-refundable support within the framework of the tender is 5 billion forints, and the minimum amount can be 100 million forints with 50% intensity, but this may differ in relation to certain activities, regions and enterprise sizes. With the help of the call, decisive investments can be realized not only at the regional level, but also at the national level.

According to the minister, during the development of the tender, it was a priority that projects with a viable, high-quality business plan win funds. In addition, significant additional points will be awarded to improvements in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources.

It will be possible to submit grant applications from August 18, 2021.
