In Komáromszentpéter, the Pro Probitate award was presented on Saturday. Miklós Duray was honored for his public activity and standing in the interest of the Hungarian national community in the highlands.

Krisztián Forró, the president of the Hungarian Community Party, greeted Miklós Duray and the other participants of the event at the award ceremony. Duray's life journey was praised by József Berényi, the vice president of Nagyszombat County (MKP), who, speaking about Duray's life journey, highlighted the scientific, community and legal protection work of the awardee. He added color to the tribute by recalling personal experiences, recalling their first meeting and the fact that even as a university student he was grasped by the credo formulated by Miklós Duray: we must build institutions! Based on the example of János Esterházy, he founded Együttélés as an independent political party.

Miklós Duray was the most popular Hungarian politician in the highlands at that time, as Berényi put it: There was still football in Dunaszerdahely, but people were talking about him during the break. And rightly so: as a political convict, he was imprisoned twice, he constantly built the Hungarian community in the highlands, he was a real opinion maker, and people recognized this. He has maintained this attitude to this day, even in the midst of the greatest challenges. "Our awardee is a lighthouse," said József Berényi in his eulogy.

The award was presented to Miklós Duray by the MKP county representatives. The award ceremony was made even more intimate by the high-quality cultural program.

The awardee thanked the words of appreciation, the cooperation and the support of all those who helped him in his work. Which, according to his words, started when he was four years old, when his father took him to the local Csemadok foundation organization, where he helped with the stacking of stools. "It's true, a lot of time has passed since the chairs were laid to the present award ceremony, so I thank you for being here," said Miklós Duray.

The Pro Probitate award was founded by representatives of the MKP, and was the first to honor the life journey of János Esterházy - in memoriam.
