He wanted to be a member of the DK - this is how former MSZP president Gyula Molnár assessed the developments of the past few weeks, whose party membership was suspended by the leadership of his party, as Gergely Karácsony, Bertalan Tóth and Ferenc Gyurcsány agreed to join the DK faction in 2022.
Regarding the agreement, Molnár said in ATV's Egyenes beszéd program: it was not his request, whatever MSZP co-chairman Bertalan Tóth and Budapest president and party director Zsolt Molnár say. According to Molnár, Tóth and Karácsony signed the agreement by which he was handed over to the dk without his prior knowledge.
According to him, the agreement was a compensation for the fact that DK stood behind István Hiller and Imre Komjáthi in Pesterzsébet and Csepel, respectively, and therefore Molnár was handed over to DK without his knowledge. There was absolutely no question that his membership in the MSZP would be suspended because of this - added the former MSZP president.
