The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade called it unprecedented that the Bavarian authorities do not allow the presence of Hungarian consuls at the Munich arena, where the Germany-Hungary football match is being held on Wednesday night.

In a video published on his Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon, Péter Szijjártó He emphasized: the job of consuls is to provide assistance to citizens staying abroad if necessary. He said: he instructed the staff of the Consulate General in Munich to provide continuous information regarding the Wednesday evening match of the European Football Championship group stage.

The minister drew the attention of Hungarian citizens that those who need consular assistance should call the 24/7 telephone number of the Hungarian Consulate General in Munich, which can be found at munchen.mfa.gov.hu.

He said: their consuls already had to intervene in several cases on Wednesday. A bus carrying 53 Hungarian fans was stopped twice, once by the customs authorities, once by the police. that the bus was only allowed to continue after a two-hour wait only when the consuls took decisive action . The minister also announced that, according to the notification of the Bavarian authorities, they will not allow non-impregnated mops to be brought into the stadium for fire safety reasons. The Bavarian authorities have also announced that marching to the arena will not be allowed either.
