civilek.info:

I wonder why we stated in the title that the Poles are wise? Because the introduction of the euro is like the lottery.

In 2019, the Freiburg-based CEP (Centre de politique Européenne) published a study on who are the losers and who are the winners of the introduction of the euro. This study examined the period between 1999 and 2017.

You wouldn't think it, but - despite their greatness - the French, for example, did very badly. The per capita "effect" of the euro during this entire period was as if each French person had lost 56,000 euros. The Italians fared worse than them. During the period, every Italian lost nearly 74,000 euros. The big winner was Germany with a profit of 23,000 euros per person. The Dutch also did very well, but the introduction of the euro did not cause any particular change in the lives of a Greek, a Spanish and a Belgian citizen.

It follows from all of this that the effects of the introduction of the euro will only be seen in the longer term and it is impossible to estimate in advance whether - for example in our case - the Hungarian economy would do well with it or not. Of course, the domestic dollar left is constantly demanding that we introduce the euro.

But nothing is expensive for them.
