The government accepted the proposal of the minister without portfolio responsible for the management of national assets to improve the wages of the largest public service state companies.
According to this, as of July 1, 2021, within the framework of a three-year wage agreement, the wages of employees at certain state-owned companies will increase by a total of 15 percent. The purpose of wage development is to improve the competitiveness of state-owned companies on the labor market, thereby contributing to the restart of the economy.
Andrea Mager , the minister responsible for the management of national assets, emphasized: "The national government has preserved labor peace and improved wages over the past 10 years, and during the pandemic, the Hungarian state has proven to be a good employer and good employer. In the last two years, state-owned companies managed to preserve jobs, supply security and basic public services functioned without disturbance. Of course, the continuous maintenance of the service level would not have been possible without the committed and persistent employees of the state-owned companies, to whom we owe thanks. The current multi-year and predictable wage development recognizes the sacrifices made in the past period, and based on the performance of the growing economy, the government enables longer-term planning for public sector employees.
I am glad that today all of us, representatives of the state side, trade unions and employers, sat at the same table, which also proves that we are all ultimately working for the same goal. And this goal is none other than the successful operation of Hungarian state-owned companies that provide a safe life path and excellent service in the long term, " said the minister.
