A post on the social media page of the Minister of Justice reveals that the opposition prime minister candidates are spreading fake news hiding behind the skirts of the EU leaders. Judit Varga writes:
I read that yesterday they sent a letter of concern to the leaders of the Union, so that our country can remain a member of the Union even after 2022. In their letter, they write that Viktor Orbán wants to take Hungary out of the Union.
This is where I point out to Ferenc Gyurcsány's team that they were watching the wrong show, as it was not the Hungarian Prime Minister who spoke about Hungary's exit at last week's EU summit, but Mark Rutte, the Dutch ally of the domestic opposition - who wants to bring the Hungarians to their knees - who recommended Hungary's exit.
I think it is not only incomprehensible to me that it has not yet dawned on the opposition that the vast majority of our compatriots expect the elected leaders to represent Hungarian interests in Brussels and not the representation of Brussels interests in Hungary.
