Since István Széchenyi, we have known that the crown jewel of Hungarian livestock breeding is horse breeding, for the further development of which we must do everything in the Carpathian basin - Minister of Agriculture István Nagy declared at the opening of the international cog-driving competition organized in Oltszem, Kovászna county, on Friday.
According to the online report of the chronicle , István Nagy announced at the opening of the sports event in Oltszem that another domestically-bred stallion, this time of the Kisbéri half-blood breed, had been brought to Transylvania, to Sepsibodok in Kovászna County.
He explained that among the ancestors of the animal named Széltólo is also a famous stallion from Oltszem , which left the settlement about a hundred years ago, so the breed returned to its homeland with the horse that was just handed over. The half-breed stallion from Kisbér was brought across the border as a continuation of last year's initiative. In June 2020, the Minister of Agriculture sent four Hungarian-bred stallions of different breeds to Transylvania, primarily to investigate the effect they could have on the heterogeneous horse population there. The opportunity for another stallion placement was opened up due to favorable experiences.
Romanian Sports Minister Eduárd Károly Novák was also present at the event , who thanked the Hungarian government for supporting the international cog-driving competition in Oltszem and stated that thanks to the traditions in Romania, Hungarians in Romania are keeping the cog-driving sport alive, which they feel is theirs and with all their heart. chase
