Justice Minister Judit Varga told the Hungarian Nation that the European Commission had published a package of biased, politically motivated reports on the rule of law that cemented double standards.
"The chapter on Hungary not only deliberately portrays a distorted picture of our country, but also quotes the opinions of NGOs from the same source without any professional basis," said the minister.
The most exciting part of the rule of law report is the last two pages, which list the organizations that helped compile the document. The specific figures are also listed on the 888.hu page.
Amnesty International Hungary has a thousand ties to Soros' Open Society Foundations (OSF). Between 2016 and 2018, AI Limited (not counting its offices in individual countries) won more than $6.6 million in grants from the Soros Foundation.
The director of the Hungarian organization is Dávid Vig, who worked in the criminal justice group of the Open Society Foundations human rights program between 2011 and 2016, and from 2017 he led the law enforcement program of the Hungarian Helsinki Committee.
The Eötvös Károly Institute also cannot complain, because according to OSF records, they became richer by almost 30,000 Soros dollars in 2016, 50,000 in 2018, and 25,000 in 2019.
The Society for Freedom is brutally stuffed with Soros dollars. Between 2017 and 2020, they received 293 million.
The Hungarian Helsinki Committee fared even better, since between 2016 and 2019 they pocketed a little over one and a half million dollars. That's almost half a billion forints!
