The 36th Téka Folk Art Camp started yesterday in Nagykálló – Harangodon. The event, which is traditionally built around handicrafts and folk dance, has been waiting for the participants with many accompanying programs in recent years, such as the presentation of a wedding in Nyís, but a harvest day and a marathon dance house have also been held in and around the dance barn in Harangod.

During the one-week camp, the campers can learn, for example, the secrets of clay making, cross-stitch embroidery, leatherwork, lace making, lace making, woodcarving, basket weaving, blacksmithing, felting and weaving, but they can also take part in zither and singing lessons. . Experienced folk dancers can learn dances from Kalotaszeg, Szilágyság, Garamköz and Mehkerék, while beginners can learn dance steps from Nyírség and Mezsög with the help of the Bürkös, Bakator, Zöldsátor and Silvatica bands.

On the Wednesday thematic day of this year's Téka, together with Fonó Budai Zeneház, they will hold Spinning Day, in addition to performances about the beliefs of the ancients and the customs of the Transylvanian peasant world, stilt walkers will entertain the audience, before the evening dance hall, the Erdőfű Band and Melinda Balogh will take the stage.

In addition to domestic campers, guests from the United States, South America, Canada, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Transylvania and Transcarpathia are also welcome at Nagykálló-Harangod.
