The pressure exerted by a large international lobby network is behind the attack on the Hungarian child protection law, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Kossuth radio's Sunday newspaper program.

Péter Szijjártó stated that the European Commission basically has only one big problem with the law in question, namely that "from then on it became clear that LGBTQ activists cannot enter schools and kindergartens and speak Hungarian as they wish children's heads" . "They cannot be exposed to any propaganda aimed at changing gender or promoting homosexuality". The head of the department emphasized that this is the problem with the law of the European Commission and the liberal mainstream, "of course it could not be written like this, they had to formulate it differently, and that is why they wrote 54 pages in the end".

Péter Szijjártó said, "the liberal mainstream has been exposed for a long time, they mean by the definition of democracy that everything happens the way they want". "It has also become clear in recent years that they are not democrats, because a democrat accepts when someone has a different opinion, respects it, tries to understand and tries to argue for his own position," the minister explained. He pointed out that "the liberal mainstream strives for absolute hegemony of opinion, they have created a kind of terror of opinion: if someone disagrees with them on some issue, they are immediately excluded, using the kind of epithets that make the given position and its representative absolutely indecent."

"You can agree with them, then they accept you, if you don't agree with them, they exclude you. So much for their understanding of democracy and their understanding of tolerance," added Péter Szijjártó.

The politician also spoke about the fact that "Brussels institutions do not intend to use European Union funds for blackmail, which is why everything must be done to ensure that no one can ever mix up European financial affairs and European political affairs". He said, "this is also repulsive, because these European financial resources do not appear as a result of the work of Brussels bureaucrats, they do not fall from the sky", but are created on the basis of European economic performance, which is produced by European taxpayers, including the Hungarian people . Hungarians participate in the production of European resources just like Luxembourgers, Germans, French or even Spaniards, he pointed out.

According to Péter Szijjártó, European Union funds should therefore not be presented as if they were "created as a result of the generosity of our Western European friends, as if they were a kind of charity or humanitarian aid". The minister underlined that the performance of the Hungarian economy will increase significantly even without EU funds, the government is doing all it can to achieve the 5.5 percent economic growth, and next year it will return the personal income tax paid this year to Hungarian families raising children. He stated that the acceleration of the restart of the economy must be handled completely independently of European sources, since a completely new economic timeline has begun due to the pandemic.

In this era, a huge competition began to decide who is among the winners, who can attract the most investments possible, since investments create jobs, which increase the performance of the economy, said the head of the ministry. He emphasized that "we now have to focus on ensuring that Hungarian rules and Hungarian conditions are as good as possible in terms of attracting investments", which is why the 29 decisions that the government adopted at the suggestion of the operative group responsible for restarting the economy are important. "These ensure that the Hungarian economy will be able to restart the fastest in Europe, thus we will clearly be among the winners of this new world economic era," declared Péter Szijjártó.
