These data were published this morning by the information page Koronavirus.gov.hu. The number of vaccinated people is 5,596,543, of which 5,374,864 have already received their second vaccination. 161 new infected people were confirmed, increasing the total number of identified infected people to 809,262 since the beginning of the epidemic.
There are no new deaths, so the number of deaths remains at 30,020. The number of recovered people is constantly increasing, currently 745,848 people, and the number of active infected people has decreased to 33,394 people. 55 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 9 of them are on ventilators.
Hungary is still among the first in the European Union in terms of total vaccination coverage, so from an epidemiological point of view, our country is one of the safest countries. However, the new, aggressive delta virus mutant is spreading strongly in several European countries, so we ask that anyone who has not yet been vaccinated should do so. For the sake of prevention, the Operative Tribe is the first in Europe to allow the third vaccination for everyone, from August 1.
In addition, elderly people who have not yet been vaccinated will be visited personally with the help of family doctors and medical students. The vaccination can also be administered at the family doctor's office or at the nursing home. You can continue to register on the website www.vakcinainfo.gov.hu, and those with valid registration can also book an appointment for vaccination online on the website www.eeszt.gov.hu.
Those with valid registration - including validly registered foreigners living in Hungary and Hungarian citizens living abroad - can automatically book an appointment for vaccination online. Pfizer, Sinopharm and, in limited quantities, Szputnyik vaccine can be booked nationally in the online appointment booking system.
Janssen and Moderna vaccines are also available at some vaccination points.
