DURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF NÁDASDLADÁNYI NÁDASDY CASTLE, WHICH WILL BE VISITABLE AGAIN FROM AUGUST 3, PHASE I OF THE REVITALIZATION OF THE CASTLE GARDEN WAS REALIZED,

which directly affects the renewable lake, the promenade around it, and in its entire area, the risk of accidents has been eliminated and accessibility has been ensured.

It is as if we were only in Tudor-era England on the banks of the Sárvíz, in this historicizing, multi-towered neo-Gothic castle, which is still imbued with the unshakable loyalty and support of the home and family of the builders and their ancestors. We are talking about a family in which, despite the customs of the time, a deep bond between spouses was commonplace for many generations.

The builders of the castle, Count Ferenc Nádasdy and Countess Ilona Zichy, had such love for each other, they planned their life together in the fairy-tale castle, which unfortunately was painfully cut short: the young countess, mother of three children, died of cholera at the age of 24. The count never married again, he designed the castle together with his love and furnished it that way after her death. The women's salon and the chapel reminded her of her deceased loved one, and the altar picture of St. Ilona bore her features.

The light of the restored castle is enhanced by the return of the paintings depicting family members, which were originally made in the Hall of the Ancestors. Thus, in the castle, visitors can see the works of famous painters such as Gyula Benczúr, Miklós Barabás, János Valentiny and Emil Adam.

The exhibition introduces you to all of this in an interactive way, as well as to the social life of the time and the rules of etiquette that regulate it, which are now smilingly strict, and which the visitor can also gain an insight into.
