Tamás Schanda, parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, gave an interview to Mandiner. In the conversation, he also commented on the increase of the minimum wage and the tax program of the globalists (merged opposition).
Evaluating our employment situation, the State Secretary indicated that " according to the data of the European Union, in the first quarter of this year, we reached a high level of employment not seen since the system change ...the increase in the minimum wage increases the purchasing power by improving the income situation of employees and families, thus contributing to the economic for growth. Raising the minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage also encourages wage increases for those with higher earnings , since in order to avoid possible wage tensions, it is advisable for businesses to maintain the differences shown in earnings, honoring higher education or greater work experience," he emphasized.
"Today, Hungary has a government that considers it important to ask and listen to people's opinions in order to create stable points of agreement. In the national consultation, which can be filled out online until August 25, we measure the support for measures that fundamentally affect the quality of life of Hungarian families. In order to strengthen Hungary, we ask about, among other things, the possibility of constitutional protection of family allowances or the further reduction of taxes on work. Based on the results, decisions can be made about the necessary steps and their schedule. We strive to create the conditions for sustainable economic growth. We continue on the path of family-centered, work-based and patriotic economic policy, on which we started in 2010, breaking with the practice of the Gyurcsány government.
When asked what his opinion is about the opposition's demand that the minimum wage be tax-free, the state secretary answered as follows:
" Interestingly, during its administration, the left not only did not recognize tax exemptions, but also had a series of tax increases, it also taxed work to the death, the income tax was twice as much and the minimum wage was less than half. Unlike the left, we are looking for real solutions to problems, and we don't measure the success of our programs in "likes": for us, people come first, and ensuring their livelihood is the most important task. Of course, you can promise anything, but it's hard to argue with the numbers: the mandatory minimum wage after the Gyurcsány government in 2010 was about HUF 73,000, but today it exceeds HUF 167,000. In the past decade, we have therefore more than doubled the domestic minimum wage. In the case of many workers on the minimum wage, the family tax allowance essentially provides income tax exemption and provides substantial assistance to families. The left speaks easily, but we act, the national side can also achieve the freedom of young people under the age of 25. Of course, we have no illusions about Ferenc Gyurcsány and his principled friends. The current squabbling would not be the first time that, putting their own political interests first, they throw a fit over real values and say no to supporting a work-based society.
The united left's program is full of tax increases, they didn't have a better idea before 2010, and since they are still playing to the same Gyurcsány's score, they are still incapable of thinking in a different scenario, they represent the same bad economic policy that once destroyed the Hungarian economy."
