In addition to local entrepreneurs and private individuals, offerings for the Kömpöc calvary also came from people living in the surrounding settlements. The municipality published its call for donations at the beginning of the year, and thanks to the collected HUF 4.5 million, the crossroad was completed.

It is good to know and see that even in the smallest village and settlement, people try to keep their faith and make sacrifices for it. This is what the civil initiative in Kömpölc is about.

"Many people helped the construction of the calvary with small and large donations, so there was no need to supplement the costs from the village coffers," said mayor László Tisoczki, from whom we learned that the original ideas were modified several times during construction.

The suggestions of Antal Lajkó, the tombstone maker from Bordány, who made the limestone columns, were also accepted. Thanks to the handyman's offer, it was possible to drill a 1.4-meter-long hole through the middle of the poles, where the electrical wires were placed. Glass painter Eszter Balogh from Sopron made the station images from unbreakable glass, which are also illuminated in the evening. The installation of the lighting was carried out by Ferenc Kéri, an entrepreneur from Kistelek. Landscaping was done by public workers, and the village caretaker János Bodócsi prepared the foundations for the lighting. The names of the largest donors are on the limestone pillars, but the names of all supporters were recorded on a plaque, although there were those who requested anonymity.

The consecration of the Way of the Cross will be held on August 14th at 10 a.m. after the archbishop's Mass and confirmation at the Church of the Assumption.
