The public media is preparing for its premiere: this fall, the latest work of the Kecskemét Cartoon Studio will be shown for the first time on Duna Television. Jankovics Marcell's last masterpiece of his professional career, the animated series Toldi, will debut on September 19 at 7:40 p.m.

At the 15th Kecskemét Animation Film Festival, it was announced that Kecskemétfilm Kft.'s latest work, Toldi, will be aired on public media in the fall.

The premiere will take place on Sunday, September 19 at 7:40 p.m. on Duna Television.

In connection with the commemorative year of János Arany, the MTVA announced a tender, as a result of which the domestic cartoon production can again boast of a large-scale animated film after decades.

The Toldi series was realized with the grant money provided by the Ministry of Human Resources. The specialty of the series, marked by the name of Kossuth and Balázs-Béla award-winning film director and graphic artist Marcell Jankovics, is that it was made with a unique, hand-drawn technique, which still represents a valuable quality today.

Péter Bakonyi, Chief Editor of the Children, Youth and Film Editor-in-Chief of the Duna Médiaszolgáltat Nonprofit Zrt., emphasized during the announcement that "the relationship between the public media and Kecskemétfilm goes back to a long time ago. As part of the collaboration, the most recently completed piece of the workshop will be shown on Duna Television.

The mission of the public media is to play a role in the transmission of culture, and János Arany's Toldija is clearly a Hungarian cultural treasure.

Adaptation forms a bridge between generations and connects generations, advancing with the times, but preserving the ideological value. In addition, he added that the public media is preparing a national campaign for the premiere of the new gem of Hungarian cartoon production. From the beginning of September, the audience can see the animated series in newspapers, online and on social media.

Ferenc Mikulás, the director of the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival (KAFF) and Kecskemétfilm Kft. highlighted: it is a great gift for the cartoon studio in Kecskemét that, for their fiftieth anniversary this year, the Told animation series directed by Marcell Jankovics, who died recently, was completed.

Jankovics Marcell - true to János Arany - shows the career story of a teenage young man who doesn't even have a feather on his chin.

He also found humor in the poet's text, but even Petőfi helped him in portraying Arany's personality, " he added.

The narrative work that made the poet famous is an indispensable element of Hungarian public education. Thanks to the animation technique, a piece of Hungarian literature and culture comes to life in the modern interpretation of the 19th century poem.

The TV series consists of a prologue and twelve episodes in accordance with the twelve chapters of the Golden Epic.

The general public can follow the series six Sunday evenings on Duna Television. With the screening, the aim of the public media is to create value and nurture culture, among other things, to support Hungarian cartoon production, and also to provide an opportunity to add color to educational content, which hopefully will be an entertaining experience not only for elementary school students.

Toldi - from September 19 on Sundays from 19:40 on the Danube!
