The civil guards also provided indispensable help in connection with the coronavirus epidemic: in monitoring compliance with emergency measures and in performing charitable tasks, stated Károly Papp, State Secretary for Internal Security of the Ministry of the Interior, on the National Civil Guard Day celebrating the 30th anniversary of the civil guard on Saturday in Mórahalm.

Viktor Orbán was read at the event . In his letter, the Prime Minister recalled that thirty years ago people's trust in law enforcement organizations was still low.

Growing from a small local association to a national movement, however, the Hungarian Civil Guard has managed to prove that it can not only take care of the safety of the people living in their own locality, but when the need arises, the Civil Guard can stand its ground in defense and damage prevention at the national level as well.

In the letter, Viktor Orbán explained: in 2011, the government presented the Act on Civil Guard and Civil Guard Activities in recognition of their work and declared June 27 as Civil Guard Service Day.

In his greeting, Viktor Orbán said: "the years that have passed since then have confirmed that it was a good decision to strengthen the Hungarian Civil Guard, since there could be floods, migration, the coronavirus epidemic, you could always be counted on".
