After the anti-citizenship law, which was clearly a typical Slovakian "state of law gesture" directed against Hungarians from the highlands, in response to the simplified naturalization procedure in Hungary, one could say "backfired" (mostly non-Hungarians from the highlands lost their citizenship because of it), something had to be done about this in the Banana Republic with malformation.
Typically, what would be a constitutionally guaranteed fundamental right can simply be "solved" here with an internal affairs decree - thanks to this supplementary measure, 1,130 out of 1,195 applicants have received the special favor of regaining their unlawfully revoked citizenship.
Broken down by country, it looks as follows: 385 Czechs, 210 British, 171 German, 106 American, 75 Australian, 52 Swiss, 43 Canadian, 17 (!) Hungarian, 15 Italian, 9 Luxembourgish , 8 each Swedish and Danish, 6 - 6 Dutch and Norwegian, 4 Irish, 3 each French and Austrian, 2 each Belgian and Israeli, as well as 1 each Finnish, Polish, Romanian, Serbian and Ukrainian citizens can enjoy their old-new Slovak passports.
In practice, the procedure for the violation of law and justice in Slovakia now takes place in such a way that anyone who has lost their Slovak citizenship as a result of the counter-law can request it back from the Ministry of the Interior - "for a special reason".
The application must be submitted in person at the competent district office or at one of the diplomatic missions. However, the condition is that the applicant must have a registered place of residence in Slovakia - i.e. homeland here or there: direction to the immigration police...
