On the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, State Secretary Bence Rétvári posted on his Facebook page: August 15th is the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. The new music video of Ismerős arcok - Mária Andocsi is (also) dedicated to this holiday.
According to the episcopal record dated September 3, 1716, the Piarist fathers marched with four people to Andocs, a farewell pilgrimage site near Lake Balaton. They lived in the first poor mission house until 1720, and in 1721 a new 12-room convent was built. In 1723, this new house burned down by accident, but the chapel remained intact.
In the vaulted sanctuary of the baroque church of grace, Mary stands with the child Jesus - in clothes. The 160-centimeter painted statue has been dressed since 1747. Countess Katalin Széchenyi to Mária holding the baby Jesus , and since then the number of gift dresses has been increasing every year . The oldest intact dress is from 1852; Talliánné Boronkay Cili .
Dressed statues are not unknown in Europe, but they are not very common either. Mária from Andocsi currently has three hundred and thirty-eight dresses.
