If the New York Times is to be believed, the head of one of the Afghan news and media companies told them in connection with the wave of refugees that "we may soon witness the rise of up to twenty Viktor Orbáns" in Europe.
But we don't believe them.
The article may be true, although it is not certain, that it paints a dark future in the wake of the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan. According to the NYT, the relationship between the Taliban and the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization will become closer, and Pakistan may also be destabilized by the fundamentalists, which would be "a real nightmare", since it is a country that has 160 nuclear warheads.
We don't know anything for sure. It is not even certain - although it is very interesting - that according to a certain Caucasus Center news yesterday, the Taliban's first orders read as follows:
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced the first regulations.
Independent acts of blood revenge are prohibited. There is no jurisdiction in murder cases except in Sharia courts.
Drug production, sale and brokering is punishable by death.
The deviant tradition of the bacha base (kidnapping, dancing and sexually abusing boys) is forbidden.
The penalty for this crime is the death penalty. Credit percentages are prohibited throughout the IEA. All interest arrears will be cancelled.
It is forbidden to swear on a shrine and make sacrifices on graves. All kinds of magic, amulets and fortune-telling are crimes that are punishable by Shariah.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is ready to receive engineers and doctors from all over the world for the development of the country. We will all pay high salaries.
Craftsmen and traders can go about their business without fear.
Women are not allowed to travel without a Mahram (close male relative).
The media (press, media, internet) is free and uncensored. In the case of insults, slander, propaganda and spreading depravity, the shariah court determines the punishment.
We know one thing for sure. The inclusion of Viktor Orbán's name in the history of the dreaded Taliban fits exactly into the personality-destroying campaign of the liberal media. However, looking at things "from here", we wish Afghanistan to have, if not twenty, at least a few "Viktor Orbán"-type leaders. It would fit them.
