I read in the news that the president of the European Commission urged the international community to accept Afghan refugees on Saturday.
Von der Leyen said this when he visited the reception center for people evacuated from the South Asian country at the Torrejón Air Base near Madrid.
The politician also put into perspective an increase in humanitarian aid of 57 million euros intended for Afghanistan. He stated that help is needed not only for those who managed to evacuate, but also for those who remained in Afghanistan. He also stated that the Taliban cannot benefit from the EU funds promised to Afghanistan if they do not respect human rights, including the rights of women and minorities.
Now the only question is, on whose behalf the teddy bear - this is Ursula's meaning - hums. Because the Austrians, Swedes, Greeks and some others announced that they would not accept Afghans, only those who directly helped their work. Our country does the same. So who does Mrs Von der Leyen represent instead of the Member States? The colorful handful of lawyers? Not to mention the humanitarian aid he believes the Taliban will receive if they behave properly. Oh, we'll be good and use the money to buy more American weapons!
At the very least, it can be expected that the person who came up with this whole madness should give support in the first place. However, the American president is just washing up because Biden decided to leave the bidet to us.
