The opposition will "sweep out of power" the "nation-stealing, nation-treasonous brigade" sitting in the Carmelite Monastery, from next spring "the fate of the homeland will be in good hands", declared Ferenc Gyurcsány, the president of the Democratic Coalition (DK) on Sunday, Budapest, DK XI . congress and the opening event of the opposition primary election campaign in the Budapest Congress Center.
The party chairman emphasized that the obvious intention of the current system to "pull" Hungary out of the European Union must be opposed. "Because our opponents are not in Berlin, not in Paris, not in Madrid and not in Lisbon (...). Our adversaries are the nation-robbing, nation-traitorous brigade that surrounds and builds the Carmelite Monastery. They are our opponents, whom we will sweep out of power," said the former prime minister.
Ferenc Gyurcsány believed that in the past more than 10 years, the "opposition of the system" became the "hope of the country" to today's opposition, because the opposition parties understood that they had to work together. He declared: "the fate of the country will be in good hands" from next spring.
According to the party chairman, the ultimate goal of the opposition is to "create a homeland out of the country". "I want us to be at home in Hungary and to be at home in Europe. This is the task of the opposition, so we have to fight for it," he said.
He stated: the government will be changed with the elections, but the system will only be changed through governance. He believed that in the more than 30 years following József Antall, the next prime minister will have the most difficult task, because "the legacy of the NER that shackled the nation" will remain here, with institutions, rules, personal dependencies, hijacked economic sectors and actors who can be blackmailed. "Breaking this will be a daunting task. You need a person for this, I could say a woman," he said.
He added that this regime change will be led by Klára Dobrev, the Prime Minister candidate of the DK, because she is the one who is able to be tough at the same time, while holding a coalition together with compromises.
In his speech to the delegates, the party chairman also touched on the fact that the governing parties are now saying "Stop Gyurcsány" with the "intellectual depth of the message of a KRESZ sign". "I don't mind, but that won't be enough, boys, you can hang out and pee," he remarked, and told the members of the DK not to be afraid of having to go to war, because "this fight will bring peace." He promised the 60 candidates of the DK: their party will protect and stand by them if they are personally attacked in the campaign.
He also warned his party members: when the government side "feels that they are in trouble, evil will haunt them". That is why he asked: the people of DK resist the temptation.
In the end, he said: "In the name of the Eucharist" we cannot promise forgiveness, "because we do not forgive those who robbed, insulted, and destroyed the country in the last 12 years." But, he continued, "they will be lucky, because a decent independent judiciary of a decent power will break a stick over them." "They do better than we do," he noted.
Klára Dobrev , the Prime Minister candidate of the Democratic Coalition, spoke at the event: they are not simply preparing for a change of government, the stake is much higher, because the "Huxit" is getting closer, Hungary's exit from the European Union. The stakes of the election will not only be whether we want a fair and decent Hungary, but whether we, and our children and grandchildren, will go towards Europe or "wink" more and more towards the East, he said.
He called the only goal of the election: to defeat Viktor Orbán in April 2022, and then govern in such a way that this system will never be rebuilt.
He warned: the Orbán regime is preparing to lose the elections, it will try to limit the new government's room for maneuver in order to topple it as soon as possible, so if the new cabinet will not be able to govern well, it will not take even a year for "Orbán Viktor, thirsty for revenge, should return to power".
He added: Viktor Orbán's system must be dismantled with smart, fast and professional governance. He believed that since Viktor Orbán had imposed his "own Mamelukes" on the Hungarian public administration, after the change of government, it is necessary to "immediately and professionally" intervene in the system of state administration and public administration in dozens of places at the same time.
"Whoever wants to be the joint prime ministerial candidate of the opposition must take note: if we don't deal with the Orbán regime, then the Orbán regime will deal with us," said Klára Dobrev, adding that she doesn't want to settle with "these", but he wants to defeat them "once and for all".
Klára Dobrev summarized the tasks of the next eight months in four points: the first is the primary election, then the election campaign will begin, in which the opposition parties will act with a common image and unified communication. He added that, in parallel with the campaign, a close solidarity alliance must be formed from the opposition parties, and the new "republican government" must be formed by the end of this year, and the government program must be drawn up.
He called the fourth task: international negotiations with Hungary's European and American partners must be started without delay, and Hungary must be brought back to Western Europe.
"Change is inevitable," concluded the DK Prime Minister candidate.
