"Everywhere we strengthen the Hungarian communities, we keep a little bit of Hungary alive," declared János Árpád Potápi, the State Secretary responsible for national policy at the Prime Minister's Office in Gúta in the highlands, where he delivered a ceremonial speech at the ceremonial handover of the renovated building of the Church of Our Lady of Gúta, completed with the support of the Hungarian government, on Friday .
In his celebratory speech, the Secretary of State for National Policy said that the goal of the Hungarian government is to strengthen them wherever there are Hungarian people and Hungarian communities, because wherever this happens, Hungary will also be able to continue to live. He pointed out: the renovation of the institution in Gúta is also of great importance, as the children studying there - in terms of faith, Hungarianness and culture - receive a surplus that is not available in other schools.
He emphasized that there is probably no Hungarian-inhabited settlement in the Carpathian Basin that does not benefit from the support of the Hungarian government in some way, and it is hoped that this work of national unification will continue in the future.
Árpád Tóth, the director of the school center, stated at the ceremonial handing over of the institution: in the future, they will continue to make every effort to fill the well-equipped institution with content that gives the students a very good foundation and knowledge through the Christian faith.
The predecessor of the recently renovated school center, the eight-grade Assumption High School of Our Lady, was established in 1992, and in 2014 it was expanded to become a school center with a primary school and a kindergarten. At the end of 2016, the Hungarian government supported the renovation of the building of the institution, which provides learning opportunities for more than two hundred children, with 1.8 million euros, and the full-scale reconstruction has now been completed.
