Primary school enrollments took place throughout the Uplands in April, and this was no different in the Ipolyság sub-region. According to data from the Ipolyság Joint Education Office at the end of April, the number of children enrolled in Hungarian schools in the sub-region slightly decreased. While 77 future Hungarian freshmen registered last year, this April their number will drop to 65, Felvidek.ma

Twelve educational institutions belong to the joint education office. Among these educational institutions, there are also small schools with Slovak language and 1st to 4th grades. In a significant part of the schools, due to the epidemic situation, the future first-graders could not participate in the registration, only the parents showed up at the indicated time. At the same time, there were also educational institutions that conducted enrollment online.

He did slightly better. A total of 53 children were enrolled in the city's two Hungarian primary schools, which is nine more than the previous year. The Fegyvernek Ferenc Commonly Administered Catholic School was chosen by twenty people this April, just like last year. In this way, a strong, large first class will open in the church institution in September.

Thirty-three children were enrolled in Pongrácz Lajos Elementary School (pictured by Péter Pásztor), and it is expected that three will be deferred. Compared to the previous year, interest in the public school has increased. Last year, 24 children were enrolled in the school. Based on the number of students enrolled, two classes are opened at Pongrácz Lajos Elementary School.

The number of students in the village schools decreased slightly. Four children were enrolled in the fully organized primary school in Ipolyszakálos. This is a significant drop compared to the previous year. Eight future freshmen were enrolled in the institution, which is currently visited by a total of sixty students.

Similar to last year's data, two students were enrolled in Szalatnya, and one child is expected to start his studies in Alsószemeréd.
Five children chose the Ipolyviski Elementary School, which underwent a significant transformation and change of attitude. Thus, it is expected that the number of staff at the small school maintaining two classes will stagnate .

A strange situation arose in Palást, one of the largest settlements in the subregion. Palásthy Pál Egyházi Elementary School was chosen by an exceptionally large number of parents last year, 14 children were enrolled at that time. Previously, their number ranged from 2 to 9. In April this year, not a single child registered for school. The situation may change until the start of school in September.
