Twelve patients died and another 873 Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the coronavirus - koronavirus.gov.hu announced in its weekend summary on Monday, highlighting that 5,840,588 people have been vaccinated in Hungary so far, of which 5,545,538 are the second, 512,000 and they have already received the third dose of vaccine.
It was written on the government portal: the number of infected people identified in Hungary has increased to 815,605. The number of those who died rose to 30,098, and the number of those who recovered rose to 779,005.
The number of active infected people is 6,502. 266 coronavirus patients are being treated in the hospital, 34 of them are on ventilators.
There are 2,630 people in official home quarantine, the number of samples taken is 6,715,858.
They pointed out that the delta virus mutant is spreading in several European countries and Hungary. However, vaccination works, it is more effective than any other control method; less than one percent of the vaccinated get sick, and the course of the disease is usually much milder in the vaccinated, they pointed out.
They also indicated that the majority of the Hungarian population has registered for vaccination and has already received the vaccine, but it is not too late for those who have not yet done so. The registration website and online appointment booking are also constantly open.
You can book an appointment for the third vaccination online, but you can also request it from your family doctor. The third vaccination is particularly recommended for the elderly, chronic and weakened immune system patients.
