Shootings, knife attacks, explosions, grenades, automatic weapons, gang wars - Sweden is unrecognizable, says a Swedish police officer. According to him, they are completely powerless against gang wars.
That is why one of his colleagues launched a petition demanding the government to improve their working conditions. As they say, the glass was full when they recently shot a friend in the open street, reports the international news agency V4NA.
The residents of Gothenburg, Sweden, came from 184 countries, and they all brought their culture and customs with them. This was discussed by police officer Ulf Boström, who has been working as a police officer for 16 years, including in the integration department in the "problematic" districts of the city.
As he says, the immigrants brought their political beliefs and customs with them. If the patriarchal system was the general rule in their country of origin, it still appears in their circles. If they used to live according to the Islamic culture of honor and sharia, they will live according to this in Sweden as well.
According to Ulf Boström, the city has been torn apart in many ways, it is no longer recognizable. They have to deal with more and more new types of crimes, which were not typical before, but appeared in the city with mass immigration.
Just like gang wars, which Boström also blames on immigration.
According to him, all this could happen because the Swedes let it happen by giving confidence to politicians who do not have the appropriate competence and knowledge to handle the situation.
"Either you pay or you resist, and your life is completely ruined," said Boström, who said that the problem has grown enormously and the police cannot solve it.
IF SOMEONE DOESN'T HAVE A BIG FAMILY THAT CAN PROTECT HIM, THEN HE HAS NO CHANCE, SAID THE POLICE OFFICER, WHO AT ONE POINT IN THE INTERVIEW ALREADY TALKED ABOUT THE VICTIMS, FIGHTING THROUGH TEARS.
A tragedy drew attention to the conditions in Gothenburg. At the end of June, a 33-year-old police officer was shot on the open street while on duty. The suspect is a 17-year-old gang member, Sakariye Ali Ahmed, who was already convicted of attempted murder two years ago. Then he stabbed a man on the tram, when he was only 15 years old, but because of his young age he was sentenced to only one and a half years in prison.
After what happened, the police are now demanding the government in a petition to act decisively and immediately improve the working conditions of the police.
The petition, which has already been joined by more than 1,700 police officers, contains the police's proposals in 20 points, with which the authority of the body could be restored. Among these roles are the introduction of accelerated court proceedings, resistance to the police and the criminalization of anti-social behaviour. Bergelin said that now he wants to draw the government's attention to the situation of the police, and he wants to put pressure on the politicians.
