Europe is under migration attack from several directions, which is expected to increase in the coming months due to the irresponsible EU immigration policy and some irresponsible statements, warned Péter Szijjártó Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Finland on Tuesday.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó reported in Hameenlinna, at the forum of the Visegrad, Nordic and Baltic countries, that in addition to the usual south and southeast direction, the EU is also under increasingly strong migration pressure from the east. As he said, Lithuania and Poland feel threatened by Belarus, and this has a direct impact on the entire Northern European region.

He emphasized: this pressure will increase in the coming months, since four million of Afghanistan's population of 39 million have already been forced to leave their homes, and some people in Western Europe are urging them to leave for the continent.

Péter Szijjártó stated that Northern Europe is now facing the challenge that has been a part of everyday life in Central Europe since 2015, and this is changing the position of the northern governments a little.

In 2015, Hungary was under serious attack because we built a fence on our border to protect ourselves and the EU. They used all kinds of distasteful epithets on us, and they didn't bother to compare us to the darkest dictatorships of the 20th century, he said. He added that, on the other hand, the situation has changed today, so the construction of border fences has become a common practice in the European Union.

In this regard, Hungary has positive experiences, because if a fence had not been built on the southern border, hundreds of thousands or even millions more could have arrived illegally in Europe, he underlined.

Therefore, Hungary has protected Europe, protected Germany, which is considered the main migration destination, and of course is ready to do so now, emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
