The government is initiating the extension of the state of emergency due to the epidemic at the Parliament - according to a statement issued by the Government Information Center (KTK) on Tuesday.
The proposal to extend the state of emergency will soon be presented to the Parliament, so it can be among the first on the agenda of the parliament in the autumn session.
Extending the scope of the law is necessary because the pandemic is still ongoing, and due to the spread of the delta virus mutant, the number of infected people is increasing throughout Europe and Hungary.
All of this still makes it necessary to protect against the epidemic and maintain the ability to act quickly. All the more so, because the last year and a half has proven that the previously adopted extraordinary and temporary legal frameworks served well in the defense against the epidemic, they emphasized in the announcement.
KTK reminded: the Parliament last extended the scope of the law in May, thereby pushing the scope of emergency decrees to the 15th day after the first day of the fall parliamentary session.
"According to the amendment to the law to be submitted to the parliament, the scope of the anti-coronavirus law will be extended again until January 1. If the epidemic situation makes it possible, the government will take the initiative to end the state of emergency before the law expires," read the announcement of the Government Information Center.
