After the long COVID period, the Hungarian Student Sports Association invites schools to get active next week on the European Student Sports Day, September 24. This year, the main goal of the event is to bring regular exercise back into children's lives with the experience sports programs, and to encourage institutions to create creative exercise spaces. Participating schools will receive prizes worth nearly twenty million forints, including a sports or fitness park worth five million forints.
The Hungarian Student Sports Association (MDSZ) is once again offering a large-scale adventure sports program opportunity to primary and secondary schools at the beginning of the new academic year, so that after the one and a half year period, which unfortunately is extremely limited in exercise, as many children as possible can experience the joy of community sports again. On the European Student Sports Day, which will be held on September 24, the MDSZ encourages schools to take advantage of the opportunity included in the school year schedule and to organize the lessons and other activities within the framework of the Hungarian Student Sports Day - as a theme day. The MDSZ is confident that schoolchildren will be active this year not only in everyday physical education lessons, but also in other lessons, as this year's focal theme of the event specifically draws attention to the creation of creative exercise spaces. The purpose of the MDSZ is to point out that the possibility of movement in and around schools is much wider than we might first think, both in space and time. To this end, the Association has prepared a wide-ranging idea library for the institutions, collecting many international best practices on how to transform school spaces into exercise space and use existing school equipment according to a new approach.
"Last year, despite the pandemic, 2 million students in 38 countries took part in the European Student Sports Day, and we set a record here too with 1,353 participating schools." - said Gábor Balogh, president of the MDSZ. "We hope that even more schools will organize the sports day this year, and that many hundreds of thousands of students at home will be able to experience the unique experience of exercising together!" Starting next week, the heroes of this year's Olympics will also participate in the recruitment campaign: Áron Szilágyi, Gergely Siklósi and Tamás Lőrincz address the teachers in their motivational video messages.
Schools and teachers participating in the student sports day, supported by the Ministry of Human Resources, will also receive special awards in 2021. S-tér Kft., which sponsors the event and deals with the installation of sports and fitness parks and playgrounds, contributes to the motivation of the schools to participate with three high-value prizes
Participants can expect several valuable prizes: main prize: 1 outdoor sports or fitness park with a gross value of HUF 5 million, which will be raffled among the schools that have also uploaded student sports day reports in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
