The Civil Solidarity Forum - Civil Solidarity Foundation (CÖF-CÖKA) and the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests donated automatic canners and dryers to NGOs in the Danube bend. The beneficiaries could receive the donations on Tuesday in Visegrád.

The handover was attended by Eszter Vitályos, State Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources, who, in connection with the initiative launched in 2018, drew attention to the fact that the civil program focuses on healthy nutrition and support for local producers.

He added that the government's intention is also to primarily use raw materials produced by local farmers in the children's meals, thereby helping the situation of rural farmers.

Eszter Vitályos also reported that, in recent years, similar machines have been donated to organizations bringing together large families, small entrepreneurs, civil organizations, social institutions or exemplary children's meal kitchens. The local governments helped in the selection of the beneficiaries, he added.

Kinga Szőnyi, the president of the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests, quoted Pálné Veres, the pioneer of Hungarian women's education, who said that "like the woman, like the family, like the family, like the whole society".

Norbert Heizler, the national coordinator of CÖF-CÖKA, recalled that the civil mission started in 2016, which was soon joined by the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests.

One of the fundamental pillars of the program is modern children's meals, and canning machines have been donated since 2018. So far, they have visited more than fifty locations, he said, more than 150 machines have been handed over, and this fall, 250 devices will be delivered to beneficiaries at 52 stations. Visegrád is the eighth station, he added.

At the handover on Tuesday, among others, Tahitótfalu Kindergartens, Kindergartens and Kitchens and the Pilisszentkereszt Óvodás Gyermekékért Alápítvány received a canning machine, which also received a four-season recipe book entitled Ízig váráz – Modern family meals.
