On Friday, Prime Minister Florin Cîţu described the RMDSZ as a reliable and faithful partner and encouraged them to continue working together at the party congress in Marosszentgyörgy.
Among other things, he said: the RMDSZ is a serious, responsible coalition partner that does not resort to blackmail, but does not back down even when it sees difficulties. "This is how we can work together to get the country back on its feet and to develop local communities," said the Prime Minister in his welcoming speech. He believed that it would be irresponsible to leave the country without a government in the midst of the health crisis, and made it clear that he wanted to continue the implementation of the government program together with the RMDSZ.
Zsolt Semjén, the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary and the President of the Christian Democratic People's Party (KDNP) said in his speech: the relationship between the KDNP and the RMDSZ has been not only a partnership, but also a friendship since the beginning. The KDNP has been pro-RMDSZ since the beginning because we are pro-Hungarian. If, God forbid, the RMDSZ should collapse, no other party will get to Bucharest, but no one. Therefore, everything that weakens the RMDSZ is unacceptable!"
At the opening of the congress, Katalin Novák, the vice president of Fidesz and Hungary's minister responsible for families, read Viktor Orbán's greeting.
"I am convinced that the exemplary cooperation that provided the basis for the great results achieved in the Romanian local and then parliamentary elections last year depended to a decisive extent on the authority, political weight, organizational strength and commitment of the members of the RMDSZ acquired over three decades. Thanks to the alliance led by you, the representatives of the Transylvanian Hungarians are now back in the Romanian government, getting the opportunity to do the work that is the key to uplifting the Hungarian community and keeping it in its homeland," the Hungarian Prime Minister's message said, among other things.
Ludovic Orban, PNL president and Speaker of the House, appreciated the correctness and reliability of the RMDSZ, its loyalty to the joint government program, and the expertise of its officials.
According to Marcel Ciolacu, the president of the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD), the Romanian political community can also learn from the seriousness and professionalism with which the RMDSZ politicizes and takes care of its supply.
Kelemen Hunor addressed the role of the government, the government crisis, and further plans in his political information given at the congress of our Heart Matters with the motto of the family. Regarding the family support plans, the head of the RMDSZ said: if there are strong families, then the community can stay here in Transylvania. " If families weaken, if emigration increases and few children are born, then at a given moment the viability of the community may be questioned. Our vision and goal is to remain in our homeland as Hungarians, as a strong and successful community. That is why we made family policy the central theme of our congress in 2021. This was also helped by the fact that we assumed a governmental role in December 2020, so we have a much greater insight into the shaping of public policy. At the beginning of the summer, we suggested to the coalition that we reconsider the family and child-rearing support, because the current system was flawed and did not bring results. We have undertaken to put an idea on the government's table by the end of 2021, which would strengthen the support of families with income by means of support that can be written off from various forms of taxes, as well as loan support for the purchase of a home, while preserving the child-rearing support that is the right of the subject," said Kelemen Hunor .
The Romanian party leaders present at the congress and the prime minister himself assured the RMDSZ initiative of their support.
