In eleven years, nearly one million jobs were created, the unemployment rate fell below four percent again, we are one step away from full employment, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on the opening day of the autumn session of the Parliament.

Viktor Orbán put it this way: Thanks to the successful vaccination program, we had a free summer again. We implemented one of the fastest vaccination programs in Europe and worldwide. Thanks to this, we were able to lift the restrictions and get the economy back on its feet earlier than others.

He emphasized: There will be a fourth wave of the epidemic, this is what the numbers show. After three epidemic waves, we already know what works against the virus and what doesn't. The virus cannot be defeated with masks and restrictions, only with vaccination. We defeated the third wave with this, and we will be able to keep the fourth one under control.

The prime minister emphasized: he recommends continuing vaccination-based protection in the future. He emphasized the importance of the third vaccination and said that there is also agreement among specialists on this issue. Hungary was the first to make it possible to receive the third vaccination, and 525,000 people have already taken advantage of this option. Currently, 8 million doses of vaccine are available and another 8.9 million doses are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.

We have enough vaccines, we can vaccinate anyone

Viktor Orbán declared.

The vast majority of Hungarians are vaccinated, so they are protected. The prime minister encourages everyone to take the vaccine, because it can prevent serious illness and hospitalization.

The government recommends to the Parliament to extend the extraordinary legal order until the end of the year. This has already been proven to help protect against the epidemic, it has already been proven and we must maintain the country's ability to act during the epidemic.

The Hungarian economy took off - said the Prime Minister. He highlighted: According to the second quarter data, the gross domestic product increased by 17.9 percent, which is the largest increase ever measured.

The performance of the Hungarian economy already exceeds the pre-epidemic level, while in many EU countries we still have to wait, Viktor Orbán stated. The export of services, investments, and industry also expanded significantly compared to 2020. According to the prime minister, the government will be able to raise economic growth above 5.5 percent.

The Prime Minister reminded that they promised to create as many jobs as the virus destroys. We fulfilled this commitment, he declared. There have never been so many people working in Hungary since the regime change.

In accordance with the people's decision, the government extended the loan moratorium for those in need, such as public employees, families, pensioners, the unemployed and those raising children, as well as for those whose income decreased during the epidemic.

The successful restart of the economy made it possible to refund the personal income tax of parents raising children until February 15. Entrepreneurs raising children can also receive tax refunds (according to the EHO, taxpayers will receive the sja, and tax payers will receive a quarter of the flat-rate tax), so in total, the tax office will refund about HUF 600 billion for 1.9 million parents in February 2022.

Pensioners also benefit from the economic results

According to experts, the amount of the pension premium exceeds HUF 50,000. They are also continuing the reconstruction of the 13th monthly pension, which was taken from the elderly by the Gyurcsány-Bajnai government.

At the beginning of 2022, professional members of law enforcement and armed forces will receive six months of gun money, and the SZJA exemption for those under the age of 25 will also be introduced.

The government is also negotiating with employers and employees about raising the minimum wage to HUF 200,000. The prime minister sees a good chance to achieve this.

Taking into account the results of the national consultation, the government intends to give constitutional protection to family allowances, lower taxes on work and pensions.

Speaking about the situation in Afghanistan, Viktor Orbán said: our country participated in the mission in alliance with the United States, but in retrospect it can be seen that the United States misjudged the situation in Afghanistan and caused a serious danger.

The task of the Hungarian Defense Forces was solely to rescue its own people and the Afghans helping them. They have fulfilled this task, and they deserve recognition - emphasized the Prime Minister.

However, the Afghan crisis could trigger a new wave of migrants, the Prime Minister pointed out. Hungary's position is that Afghan refugees must be helped in the region, "hotspots" must be created there and the aid must be taken there.

What Brussels is doing is treason

The southern border of our country must be strengthened, as the Western Balkan route is full again. The number of illegal border crossers and human traffickers tripled in one year.

Meanwhile, Brussels and Berlin are shooting Hungary in the back, even though our country maintains Europe's internal security and comfort. New proceedings are launched against the laws affecting the border closure.

" In my opinion, what Brussels is doing today is treason. It is a betrayal of the peace of Hungary, and even of Europe, " declared Viktor Orbán.

The migration disputes are tearing the union apart, so Hungary would like Brussels to return all powers of border protection to the member states.
