The leader of the DK may be behind the weakening of the primary election candidates of the MSZP, claim Magyar Nemzet's sources. In addition, according to them, Ferenc Gyurcsány is "slaughtering" the socialists with Jobbik, who wants to liquidate his former party once and for all.

In fact, in recent days the two parties have been outbidding each other and attacking the other. Zoltán Szotyori-Lázár from Jobbik spoke about the pathetic struggle of a party in decline in relation to the MSZP. We quote from the article.

Ferenc Gyurcsány "massacres" the socialists with Jobbik. This is how the leader of DK wants to liquidate his former party. According to our informant, this would not be surprising because Gyurcsány had once already overthrown the MSZP, then he became prime minister. He added: this is supported by the fact that the DK cooperates with Jobbik and the MSZP with Párbeszéd in most places in the primary elections, which by the way foreshadows the claims of several opposition lists.

According to information from Magyar Nemzet, the primary election is really a farce for more and more participants, where the candidates are forced to withdraw against their will if the party leadership decides this way over their heads.

By the way, this was reported by several aspirants. For example, the momentous Éva Sebők, who was supposed to run in Békés, spoke about: "The primary election will not continue for me, but I did not decide to withdraw", that was decided in Budapest. That the MSZP may indeed be a party in decline is supported by a series of withdrawals. Kazincbarcikán Klimon István MSZP deputy mayor decided to transfer to DK.

Like him, László Kordai (MSZP), president of the Association of Hungarian Trade Unions, continues his work in Gyurcsány's party. In February 2020, the original socialist mayors of Óbuda and Pestszentlőrinc also left the MSZP. László Kiss and Sándor Szaniszló justified their decision by saying that they receive adequate guarantees and political support from the political community of DK for the implementation of their mayoral program. Most recently, Gyula Molnár was transferred to the DK after the former party chairman was expelled by the MSZP.
