The Civil Unity Forum launched its traveling exhibition entitled Freedom drowned in blood on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the leak of the Ószöd speech, to remember together this dark and bloody period of the recent past.
On September 17, 2006, a series of demonstrations on a scale not seen since the regime change began after Ferenc Gyurcsány's speech at the closed faction meeting of the MSZP in Balatonőszöd was leaked: the Ószöd speech. The police responded to the series of demonstrations that broke out that day in a manner reminiscent of dictatorships: more than 200 civilians were seriously injured as a result of the intimidating actions.
For the first time, on Saturday, September 18th and Sunday, September 19th, at Erzsébet Square in Budapest's 5th district, visitors could see the exhibition compiled on the basis of documents and recordings from the time, which commemorates the dark days of the recent past on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the beginning of the 2006 protests . and his bloody period.
The exhibition then went on a national tour, first in Eger, then in Tiszavasvári, Debrecen and Nyíregyháza. The exhibition, which can be visited free of charge, can be seen on the 30th in Nagykanizsa, the additional program of the week:
